"All Patched Up" Charity Calendar 2008

Whilst undertaking the first City and Guilds in design and patchwork, held at Pauline's Patchwork, Weymouth, all the students were personally affected by either friends or family being diagnosed with cancer.

During the same time, there were many air sea rescues by 'Whisky Bravo', the local air sea rescue team.

When designing or sewing the latest project, we would hear the maroon's go up, telling everyone that the lifeboat and helicopter were going out to a rescue.

All the students, and the staff of Pauline's Patchwork on the course, were either linked to the lifeboat, helicopter, or the local hospital.

After much discussion, the group decided they would like to fund raise for the local chemotherapy unit at Dorchester.

Then came the question, 'What do we call the group?'
"All Patched Up" is a play on the services caring and treating patients.

The calendar is a joint venture of national and local quilters, supported and sponsored by local and national firms.

All the profits will go directly to the planned newly refurbished chemotherapy unit to buy equipment and items for patient comfort.

Many thanks to all the group, staff at Pauline's Patchwork, the sponsors, and the local hospital for their support, time, and permission to take the photographs.

The calendar is a available at a cost of £5.00 from Paulines Patchwork and other outlets. Postage and packing is 65p each.
