Back by popular demand it is Christmas in July and yes there will be a Christmas cake and a tree and Santa might even put in an appearance, so pop along for a cracker of a day.

City and Guilds exhibition 27th – 29th Aug
Come a see the work done by the latest members of the City and Guilds course and maybe enroll yourself for the next session

Workshops

Machine quilting for the Quivering with S Lockie - 12 Spaces
Saturday 21st February : 10.30 - 4.00 : £20

Another opportunity for those who tremble at the thought of quilting with the machine, or still have reservations about trying to quilt.  We will explore free motion and guided stitching for quilting and you will certainly find out just what your machine can do.  You can just sample how to do it or for those who have tried before bring along a project to quilt.

Charmed I'm Sure with Sarah Soward - 12 Spaces
Thurs 26th or Saturday 28th February : 10.30 - 4.00 : £20

Start the year off with an easy machine pieced quilt. This can be completed in a day using a pre cut charm pack and just a little something else.

Beads and Buttons Galore with S Lockie - 12 Spaces
Saturday 14th March : 10.30 - 4.00 : £20

Are you looking for something unusual for embellishing your quilt or you just can’t find the right buttons or beads for embellishment or a garment you are making?  Come along and make your own using shrink plastic and Tyvek, paint and heat.   Have a fun ‘play day’ so you need to bring your imagination though I will have lots of fun things for you to try. All materials will be provided for a small charge.

Rich Pickings with Jennifer Trollope - 12 Spaces

Variation on Bargello with Sarah Soward - 10 Spaces
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April : 10.30 - 4.00 : £37

I know I said that I would not do Bargello again after teaching it for the past 6 years but this is a nice easy one. There will be a slight variation on a normal Bargello and you do not need to meet up your seams.

Positive and Negative Appliqué with S Lockie - 12 Spaces
Saturday 25th April : 10.30 - 4.00 : £20

Create a positive and negative image using a form of machine reverse appliqué.  You will also learn how to satin stitch round curves and make neat points and corners in your stitching

Jelly Roll Number 2 with Sarah Soward - 12 Spaces
Tuesday 5th or Wednesday 6th or Thursday 7th May: 10.30 - 4.00 : £49

Join me for another day of fun with Jelly Roll day number 2. As before your jelly roll is included along with your lunch. All you need to bring is a sewing machine a board, cutter and a ruler. If you did the first one you will love this one just as much.

Kaleidoscope Pinwheels with S Lockie - 12 Spaces
Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May : 10.30 - 4.00 : £37

Use the stack and whack method to create kaleidoscope blocks using a bold design fabric.  You will be surprised just what you can do with what you thought was an ‘ugly’ fabric, or use an interesting patterned or fun print fabric.  You will need some knowledge of rotary cutting for this workshop.

Heirloom Treasures with Jennifer Trollope - 12 Spaces
Sunday 24th May : 10.30 - 4.00 : £30

This is a workshop to use up all those beautiful bits that you keep hoarding and adding to! The lace is dyed several shades of purple, stitched to a background and then embellished with treasures. You can bring your own pieces ready dyed or choose from the range of ready dyed packs available. Sweet dreams with your favourite colour with Sarah Soward - 12 Spaces

Make a stunning quilt using just one colour or multi coloured if you’re brave. This is a quilt made of all triangles but it is an easy method and triangles have never been so easy.

Exploring Broderie Perse with S Lockie - 12 Spaces

Find out how to make a small piece of patterned fabric go a long way using the old technique of Broderie Perse appliqué.  Your choice of fabric will guide you what to do to create a small unusual cushion cover or wall hanging.  You can choose to hand or machine stitch the design.

Ever thought what you could do with those luxurious fabrics you’ve collected?  Why not go back to basics and learn to do one of the earliest forms of patchwork.  We will make one concession to modern life and machine stitch it can also embellish it with beading and stitching to make it really sumptuous.

Rich Pickings Aquarium with Jennifer Trollope - 12 Spaces

Each Month you will make a new row with a different technique. Build your quilt up with rows you can make as long as you want.

Japanese inspiration Sampler Quilt with Sarah Soward - 12 Spaces

You don’t have to use Japanese fabric to make this Japanese inspired quilt. The quilt is a mixture of appliqué blocks with pieced blocks and a dash of sashiko quilting.

The Best Trip around the World with Sarah Soward - 12 Spaces
Monday 1.00 - 4.00 : £36

Use your imagination to take you on a trip of a life time, going to places that you have always wanted to go, so step into my classroom and let the trip begin. This can be a quilt or a wall hanging.

Weekly Classes - in February and September

£39 for 12 Classes run every week - Instructed by Mrs Steve Lockie

£35 for 7 Classes run every other week - Instructed by Mrs Sarah Soward

Booking

A non-refundable/non-transferable £5 deposit is required to secure your place on each workshop. Provisional bookings by telephone must be paid within 5 days. Full payment must be made 2 weeks prior to the workshop/class commencing. Failure to pay may result in loss of place. We can accept the full payment for workshops/classes by credit card.

SEWING MACHINE HIRE

Sewing machines are available for hire at a charge of £5 per day. If you need to hire a machine please request it when you book the workshop.

CANCELLATION

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible, we may be able to fill your place, if we can we will refund your payment less a £5 administration fee.

PLEASE NOTE

Any workshops where a sewing machine is required, it is helpful if you bring your manual.

All workshops are held at Pauline's Patchwork Brewers Quay, Hope Square Weymouth. To get to Brewers Quay just follow the brown signs to the Time walk. Tea and coffee is available all day along with soft drinks.

If you are a group (minimum of six) and you wish to do a workshop and it's not on the list then give Sarah or Pauline a ring and we will see what we can do for you.
